This is a photograph of actors Christopher Lee and Vincent Price taken on Tuesday, 27th May, 1969, as the celebrated their shared birthday at the famous Madame Tussaud’s waxworks museum during the filming of Scream and Scream Again. The actress in the middle being strung up by the pair is Uta Levka.
"Dreadful title. Of course we both had a good laugh over that. Vincent and I wondered, ‘Do you think this is going to be the audiences reaction?’ We spent our entire lives laughing-laughing, laughing, laughing, laughing….We were all aliens if I remember rightly. I couldn’t work it out at all. I suddenly appear in that operating theater and force Vincent backwards into this noisome vat-which certainly wasn’t anything to do with bodily fluids, I can tell you that. And Vincent slowly walked back and, with immense dignity, stepped into stand lowered himself right under the surface. I thought at the time, My God, that must have been a horrible thing to do; I’m glad it wasn’t me! But he did it, of course, being the great professional that he was. One of us certainly said-it was inevitable, I don’t remember which of us said it-‘God, it looks as if someone’s had an accident!"

“God is dying all over the world. Man invented him, but man doesn’t need him anymore. Man is God now – as a matter of fact, he always was.”
— Vincent Price as Dr. Browning
Scream And Scream Again was Vincent’s final film with director Gordon Hessler. Years after the films release Vinnie would admit that he never really understood the film at all.
