Lon Chaney Jr. & Moose.

While working at Universal Studios in the 1940’s, Lon Chaney Jr. befriended a German Shepherd named Moose. The dog performed in several Universal movies including playing the “wolf” that bit Lon in The Wolf Man (1941). Moose could always recognize Lon, regardless of the make-up he was wearing. Sadly, the friendship ended when Moose was run over by a studio truck during the filming of COBRA WOMAN in 1944.

Boris Karloff as Imhotep, in The Mummy.
The flashback scenes in ancient Egypt were designed to resemble a silent film, with no dialog, exaggerated make-up and gestures, and a faster camera speed, to suggest the great antiquity of the events portrayed. (via)
